You got it- baking mix is the generic term for an all purpose premix of flour, a leavening agent, some sort of fat- usually a vegetable oil, salt, sometimes a bit of sugar, and stabilizers. There are recipes galore for making your own version, and there are also other brands.

Among the other brands there are organic and gluten free, if you are interested in either of those.
