Scotch-based cocktails are few and far between, but a good one will rock your world. You just need the right ingredients and a delicate balance of flavors to tame the sometimes smokey and singular flavor of the base spirit. The Blood and Sand is almost 100 years old, and it is classically an equal parts cocktail. My formula deviates from this, going a little heavier on the scotch for the perfect balance between sweet, sour, and smokey. —Noah Tanen
